A qualified clinical Nutritionist is an allied health professional and they are formally recognised through the Australian Therapeutic Goods Act. A formally recognised clinical Nutritionist will be able to provide private health rebates with insurance funds.
To use the term 'clinical nutritionist', a practitioner must be university level degree qualified. This means a tertiary degree (minimum of three years) and 300+ hours of supervised clinical training. This is not an overnight or weekend degree. I've completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional & Dietetic Medicine from Endeavour College.
To be eligible for private health fund rebates, Nutritionist's must be registered with a national industry association. This registration is recognition that we have right knowledge and make decisions based on research and evidence. I'm currently registered as an Associate Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia and the Australian Natural Therapist Association.
Clinical nutritionists assist with disease prevention and management using nothing but scientific evidence. Our knowledge is applied in conjunction with the best available and most recent scientific evidence. It’s all about you. The research and evidence are applied to your body, your lifestyle, and your goals. It’s the science applied to real life.
My approach as a clinical Nutritionist in Perth is very simple, structured, and considered. Every choice I make, whether it's dietary advice, a functional test, or a prescribed supplement, is based on my clinical experience and the best available research. With the right knowledge, I then develop an individual treatment plan that you can live by, knowing that you’re making significant change to your health.
It’s not my job to stick you on an everything-free diet and send you on your way. Instead, I help adapt your current diet in order to meet your health goals.
